As Genesis said in an advert, "Stunning needed a refresh." With the entirely new Genesis GV70, we can see the new vision of Stunning. This dynamic new crossover featuring Genesis's Athletic Elegance design language is now on sale at Napleton's West Palm Beach Genesis. It represents the fifth model in the Genesis lineup and the second SUV brought to market by the luxury brand.

The Genesis GV70 is the second SUV in the Genesis lineup, emphasizing a customer-centric philosophy and aimed towards global connoisseurs who appreciate fine design, product development and great customer service. A completely new vehicle, it draws on various design elements, including the signature Crest Grille and Quad Lamps of the brand, which represents the Genesis wing emblem. In addition, a parabolic character line runs from above the quad lamps back to the rear fenders. It is joined by a stylistic coupe-like roofline that is one of the most innovative in contemporary auto design.

The new Genesis GV70 receives its motivation from a choice of engines. The base offering is Genesis's turbocharged 2.5-liter inline-4 cylinder engine making 300 horsepower and 311 lb-ft of torque. Those who are power-hungry may select a 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V6 that makes 375 horsepower and 391 lb-ft of torque. Both engines are mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission and, for North America, a standard all-wheel-drive (AWD) powertrain. The GV70 is complete with four driving modes, including ECO, Comfort, Sport and Custom. The Sport package includes a fifth mode, Sport Plus, for added versatility.

The new GV70 features a fun-to-drive quotient that has been sadly lacking from other SUVs up to this point. Thanks to the use of an enhanced body frame structure using ultra-high tensile steel plates and expanding hot stamping steel plates, as well as aluminum body parts, it's lighter than you might imagine. The new GV70 is lighter weight, with higher rigidity for improved handling and a more comfortable ride. 

Stepping inside the new Genesis GV70, you will immediately be taken by the attention to detail, which wends its way inside the cabin. The aerodynamic sections of aircraft wings inspire this sporty interior design. Unique elliptical elements are a mainstay here, and a new type of mood lighting enhances the overall feeling of the interior. Slim air vents and thin chrome trim cut through the doors, expanding the feeling of spaciousness inside.

Innovative design is omnipresent in the GV70. From the control binnacles that resemble an airplane wing cross-section to the precision-cut controls for the switch-by-wire drive selector dial, the  GV70 is on the cutting edge of technology. It even offers a fingerprint reader when equipped with the available Genesis Digital Key, which allows you to touch a fingertip to the starter button to turn it on. Suddenly a remote keyfob seems antiquated.

The interior design maximizes driving comfort thanks to an ergonomic design that minimizes the number of buttons on the center console. At the top of the dash sits a 14.5-inch touchscreen display that offers complete control of many of the GV70's infotainment, navigation and smartphone connectivity functions. It can also be operated by the Genesis touch controller on the center console. In addition, a nine-speaker premium audio system supplies an amazing aural experience while Apple CarPlay/Android Auto and Bluetooth handsfree phone and audio streaming is onboard to enhance your choice of programming.

The Genesis GV70 features an entirely new range of safety technology that is the envy of other brands. Highway Driving Assist II (HDA II) offers a comfortable highway driving experience controlling the steering wheel when changing lanes and actively responding to slow speed cut-ins. Lane changing is a breeze that is easily accomplished by simply activating the turn signal.

Intelligent Speed Limit Assist (ISLA) is a safety feature controlling the GV70's vehicle speed based on local speed limits. It even operates with models not equipped with navigation by reading speed limit signage through a front-mounted camera. Navigation-based Smart Cruise Control (NSCC) ensures safe speed on the highway, especially while on a curve. Forward Collision Avoidance-Assist (FCA) analyzes a potential shunt by helping to automatically stop the vehicle at an upcoming junction. The system works with other vehicles as well as pedestrians. 

Blind-Spot collision-avoidance assist (BCA) helps prevent drivers from crashing into cars coming laterally from the rear when changing lanes. Driver Attention Warning (DAW) and Forward Attention Warning (FAW) keep track of your attention with acoustic warnings and pop-up notifications when fatigue or inattention creep in.
